We all know what a million is. That's something most of us can get our arms around. So what's a trillion?
A million seconds is 12 days. A trillion seconds is 31,700 years.
Put another way, if you made a million dollars a day and for easy math worked 250 days a year, in a year, you'd have $250 million. In 4 years you would have $1 billion. To get a trillion dollars at a million dollars a day, you'd have to work 4,000 years.
Graphically, here's the difference represented by stacks of $100 bills:

Sarah Palin was successful in her state by reducing debt and cutting waste. This is what is so ridiculous about the thought of tax increases.If government waste was cut everyone could have lower taxes.Congress just gave itself a hefty raise while telling others to pay more taxes.The Democrats just know how to tax and spend, never control themselves. It is easy for them to spend your money. It is time to stop wasting our money. Congress seems to think the money is theirs.The waste in government is to blame for the debt and high taxes. Liberal programs such as Fannie and Freddie need to be stopped immediately. Present members of congress (both parties) should be impeached and perhaps imprisoned for the Fannie and Freddie cover ups.It is treasonous to suggest raising taxes instead of cutting waste. Taxes need to be lowered not raised.
